A change has come and I need a designer

I know that I have to do something, I have to create change. I’m not going to get all “oprah” on you but what I do know for sure, is that I know myself more than anyone else in the world. Due to this knowledge I have to act. To hell with my fears of not succeeding.

I will succeed. Period.

What does this have to do with needing a designer? Well, I need to start from scratch, wipe the slate clean. I feel that I can do more with this blog. I feel that my blog’s design needs to reflect the person that I am now and the person that I am becoming. Will the name change? Perhaps.

If you are a graphic designer and are interested in designing a new look for my blog, please contact me via email:

Thank you for your time and I hope to speak with you soon.

Sincerely,

Felicia

Charlotte Gainsbourg in Seoul

One of my favorite actresses crossed my path, well, I crossed hers when I was searching for inspiration in Apgu’. This vision stopped me in my tracks, I almost laughed out loud. I took so many pics of Ms. Gainsbourg’s photo that it’s only now I get what it was all about.

Something great is in the works, ladies and gents!

Words of Wisdom from the World’s Oldest Man

September 25, 2009 at 10:54 am (Blogroll, Observations)

Walter Bruening, the world’s oldest man has just celebrated his 113th Monday. Here are his words of wisdom which give me so much hope as I feel something fantastic is happening to me:

“Life begins each morning whether we have succeeded or failed or just muddled along. Life is a school to learn, not to unlearn.

“Life is the creation by God and if you would know God, be not a solver of riddles. Look about you and you shall see Him playing with your children. Look into the air and you shall see him walking in the clouds, out-stretching his arms in the lightning and descending in rain. You shall see him smiling in flowers, then rising and waving his hands in trees.

“Life is a great teacher of truth. What is truth to one is not truth to another. What is true in one country may be false in another.

“Life is short but the influences of what we do or say is immortal. There needs to be much more of the spirit of fellowship among us and more forgiveness. The power of gentleness is little seen in the world.

“Remember that life’s length is not measured by its hours and days, but by that which we have done therein. A useless life is short if it lasts a century.

“There are greater and better things in us all if we would find them out. There will always be in this world — wrongs. No wrong is really successful.

“The day will come when light and truth and the just and the good shall be victorious and wrong as evil will be no more forever.

“Life itself teaches us to best prepare for that future which we hope for and for that journey to that land un-known, not made by hands.

“Everything just is beautiful; everything beautiful ought to be just.

“The mystery of the world remains unknown. Our maker alone is the key which unlocks all the mysteries of the universe.

“The world is neither a prison nor a palace of ease, but rather for instruction and discipline.

“This world has been good to all of us.”

Mirror Images

A life lesson that I’ve learned:

What you love in others, you admire in yourself and that which you despise or dislike in others, you despise or dislike about your own self. So instead of judging others and wishing that they would change, change your own attitude, accept others faults as you would want them to accept yours and forgive, forgive, forgive YOURSELF.

I love you, Mom.
I love you, Seoul.

Life is.

Greetings from Masseria Cafe!

Hello, really don’t want to get into the excuses about why I’ve been a bit absent of late. Don’t want to bore you.

I only want to blog when I feel I have something to say, so here I am.

Work is good and actually so good that it’s not actually work. It’s a privilege to do what I do.

What do you feel privileged to do? Why or why not?

For the past two weeks I’ve been walking around thinking to myself “There is only the work” I first heard these words while watching a film and it comforts me now at times when I feel a bit directionless. That I should recall that particular quote now that I’m quite serious about photography, is no coincidence.I know that I have to keep doing, inquiring, moving. To stop growing, moving and groovin’…I just can’t imagine it.

It’s who I am and what I do. Can you imagine not being you?

I have a new quote: There is only the joy. Live a life full of joy.

Enjoy your days.

If you’re new to this blog let me let you in on a “non-secret”: I love, love and love cafes. That’s the simplified version of how I feel when spending my time doing absolutely nothing in beautiful structures that serve coffee to the pay the rent. Like love there really are no words to describe the love of my life: Photography and Travel. For the man that I will marry in the future, don’t take this the wrong way: I love you, baby, but not like I love P and T and cafes? Ok?

I’m almost settled in to my new place here in the financial district of Seoul. You can imagine that there are no bohemian like cafes around these parts unless you count Starbucks and Cafe Pascucci as having potential beatnik vibes. Yeah, I don’t either.

Just around the corner from my apart’ lies Masseria. It’s not funky, nor loud but it definitely has something: a quietness. It’s not original in any sense but I appreciate that it’s not trying to invent the wheel either, I find that charming. Maybe that’s the new Original?

They serve real coffee, it’s roasted on the premises, they seem to respect their product and there’s no pretentiousness. I finally have a cafe just seconds outside my door and it looks like it belongs on a side street in Paris. Gotta’ love that.

Hello!

I want to introduce a new portion of my blog simply titled, Wonderful People. I am truly lucky to have met so many wonderful and creative people while living in Seoul last year and I know that I will continue to cross paths with more cool peeps that make Seoul one of the most exciting cities I’ve lived in for quite awhile.

Introducing Jin Young Tcha! Applause! Applause!
I met Jin Young while cruising Papergarden last year and she just struck me as someone highly intelligent and down-to-earth. She is this and more. She is still making Papergarden shine with her overall chicness and business acumen. Did I mention that this chica is a graphic designer?
I caught up with her yesterday and she is even more chic than last I saw her.

Thank you for welcoming me back in Seoul with open arms, Jin Young! Love your new look!
Folks, it just keeps getting better and better!
