Paris is all about Serendipity
As luck would have it, serendipity paved the way for me to actually visit, Serendipity, the very eclectic, whimisical children’s store on 81-83 rue Cherche-Midi.
Martine told me about this hip but not too cool for school (perfect!) furniture store that she thought I’d love. She was right. Unique pieces: beds (designed by Serendipity), textiles and lighting housed in an industrial styled loft on one of the most charming streets on the Left Bank. Co-creators Laurence Simoncini and Elisa de Bartillat saw an absence of great quality married with unique style in children’s furniture and design. They’ve more than filled the void. I do believe these Parisian entrepreneurs have set the bar for others to be as daring, playful and creative as they are. Each piece is unique because they really believe in supporting and encouraging new artists, such as Tamar Mogendorff .They change the store around everyday, so it’s never the same and always great! Everything seems to have a story which probably makes customers want to try new things.
That’s what I love about Serendipity, once you enter their universe you’re free to really let your imagination run wild and there will always be great results!
Thank you so much Laurence Simoncini and staff for taking the time to introduce me to your delightful perspective, teaching me about new artists and making me feel so welcome. You, your business partner and staff truly have truly created a beautiful destination and universe.
