March Gladness: CFDA Americans in Paris 2013
Hello All!
I have a big announcement to make, but I’ll share that with you tomorrow.
For now, I just want to tell you how surprised and proud I was to run into this sign the other day. I stopped, I smiled, I photographed it and had to take in what it truly means.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has the right idea. Support is needed abroad just as much as home. I really love the fact that young, up and coming designers are supported and encouraged in their efforts to compete on an international level. It’s not just about being able to market to an international audience. It’s also about being taken seriously home and away. Americans have something to give and to share with their French counterparts and visa versa. Here’s hoping that Americans (designers) in Paris initiative goes far. It’s would be a welcome shot in the arm to Paris and hopefully we’ll see a little more sophistication and intelligent design back home in the States. What a great way to end Paris Fashion Week!
