Perspectives at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

June 9, 2011

I can’t describe how good it feels looking at Washington, D.C. through new eyes or perhaps a new perspective. It’s ultra-conservative here but for some reason I’ve had the most unconventional encounters with people from all walks of life. Chefs, museum guards (they are so hospitable and knowledgeable!), chic BoConcept managers, the list goes on but the best has been visiting some of my favorite museums in this city. One of them being the Smithosonian American Art Museum. It’s one of the most moving collections I’ve ever seen and just sitting or strolling through this museum will make you feel glad to be alive and to witness the ideas and visions of so many artists, past, present and future. A friend of mine will balk at this next statement: I’m beginning to love Washingtond, D.C.
