Paris, Travel and Fashion: FrenchTrotters

June 7, 2012

Paris is an adventure in itself. Even when I go away for a spell, I always come back and revel in the fact that I don’t know all there is to know about my adopted city. There’s so much beauty here and the people that make this city what it is are just as interesting. After all, what is a city without it’s people? Something new and exciting is flourishing in Paris at this very moment. So many creative entrepreneurs opening their own ateliers, not resting on their rich French history, forging new paths. I met such people, a young married French couple who are creating a brand, a new way of seeing French fashion right before our eyes. They call themselves Frenchtrotters and they have MOXIE! After traveling the globe together, they decided to come back to Paris and share the beautiful things and labels that fascinated them with the chic brigade in Paris. Success! They’ve certainly introduced me to labels like Forte Forte and Roseanna they’ve and to continue to expand their horizons. I photographed their lovely store on rue de Charonne (mens and women’s) recently as well as their store Little Trotters (for children) and their men’s store in the upper Marais. Don’t listen to all of these wannabe Parisians when it comes to dressing “Parisian” it always looks like a cliche (trench coat, black anything, a striped t-shirt and black flats) Parisian style is all about perfect fit, great quality, texture, something beautiful that sets you apart from the rest. I believe that you can find this and more at French Trotters.

P.S. They have their own French Trotters brand of clothing and homeware, it’s small for now, but something tells me, it’s going to get much bigger.

“Wanna be Parisians” had me laughing out loud. It’s so true though. Women think they’ve got to run out and get a trench coat and all the other items a French woman supposedly wears. Ho hum.

I love the knickers in that last photo.

Glad that I made you laugh out loud, miss lady! LOL! I just wish that this whole “dress like a French woman” would just stop. I mean, just be your stylish self. You’re most beautiful when you are comfortable in your OWN clothes, you know? Be that American in Paris and work it for all it’s worth. LOL.
