I have now found my reason to spend more time on the Left Bank: Galerie Salon. Galerie Salon is an enchanting antiques and art gallery located in charming St. Germain-des-Prés. In addition to carrying Astier de Villatte’s collection of 18th and 19th century-inspired handmade ceramics, they also carry their fragrances. Cologne 1871 will make you close your eyes and nod your head “yes”. This of the four fragrances is like nothing I’ve ever smelled before. Warm, slightly powdery, woodsy, with a hint of lemon. I just love it. A friend of mine who visited me a couple of weeks ago from New York, flipped his lid when he smelled it and bought it without hesitation. Read more about this lovely fragrance here.

I will do another post about the lovely Galerie Salon, it would be a sin not to.

Have a great Friday and now I’m off to one of the most well-known perfume houses in France! Enjoy your day!
